Free tools for 3D printing
Plastilo is a site of free converters for 3D printing, made in Mexico. Here you can turn a link into a QR keychain, a photo into a lithophane, your name into a keychain, a mountain into a terrain model or your signature into a stamp, and download a file ready for your printer.
The name comes from plastilina, Spanish for modeling clay: shaping whatever you imagine, without having to learn a 3D design program.
How it works
The converters work in your browser: your photos, text and links are never uploaded to any server. The map converter is the exception: to search for places and download terrain elevations it queries public services (OpenStreetMap and AWS Open Data); we explain this in the privacy policy.
Every file goes through automatic checks before you download it: that it's a closed solid, that it measures what you asked for and that it has no parts too thin to print. If something might go wrong, we tell you right on the page.
How the site is supported
Plastilo is free. The site is supported by advertising.
